“Cherished Georgia” Tusheti and Khevsureti
This trip is not for everyone - it is for the bravest, as well as for the most inquisitive and sophisticated travelers, for lovers of unusual, spiritual, hiking, secluded, and sometimes dangerous natural tourism. We will walk along paths that are very rarely trodden by tourists. Traveling around Tusheti and Khevsureti on foot or on horseback is a very rare, almost exclusive offer on the travel market. This is the best thing that happened to us in Georgia, and we are happy to present it to you!
Tusheti is a highland region of Georgia, an incredibly beautiful, mysterious and ecologically clean place in the Caucasus, where they still live according to the behests of their ancestors. You will see breathtaking mountain panoramas, ancient battle towers and get acquainted with ancient Georgian customs. The regions of Tusheti and Khevsureti are mystical lands accessible to tourists several months a year. From October to June, snow isolates them from civilization, and many local residents migrate to the capital and surrounding areas for the winter.
Did you know that Tusheti is a national reserve protected by UNESCO? It was formed in 2003, and the total area of protected areas is 122,050 hectares. Tusheti is located on the territory of Georgia parallel to the border with Chechnya. It was there that most of the scenes from the famous Soviet film “Mimino” were filmed.
