Tusheti is a highland sanctuary in the Caucasus—mysterious, ecologically pristine, and deeply traditional. Here, life still follows the behests of ancestors amidst breathtaking mountain panoramas and ancient battle towers.

Isolated from civilization by snow from October to June, these mystical lands are accessible only for a few months a year. While locals migrate to the valleys for winter, the summer reveals a UNESCO-protected national reserve (established in 2003) spanning 122,050 hectares along the border with Chechnya. This rugged landscape also served as the iconic backdrop for the legendary film Mimino.
